The Attorney General of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has temporarily withdrawn until the probe is locked for a sexual disorder against it.
Karim Khan will take a vacation until the end of the external investigation, which began at the end of last year, and his deputy prosecutors will run the office in his absence, said the ICC.
Previous media reports cite a document outlining the allegations against G -H Khan, which is understood to include unwanted sexual touch and “abuse”.
Han Han denied the allegations reported to the court governing body last October.
Several ICC organizations and employees have previously called on D -K Khan to withdraw during the investigation.
It is not known when the external investigation – led by the UN Internal Supervision Service – will be completed.
An anonymous source told the Reuters Agency that G -H Khan was talking to UN investigators last week for a final interview as part of the process.
Reuters reported that he saw a letter in which he was sent to his employees confirming his temporary leave and in which the prosecutor stated that his position had been subjected to a permanent examination.
“My decision is guided by a deep and unwavering commitment to the confidence of our office and court and to protect the integrity of the process and justice of all participating,” he said in the letter.
Shortly after the allegations appeared last year, the MHC guard, the independent supervision mechanism (IOM), asked, to conduct an internal investigation into the allegations.
Thehe The court’s managing authority later decided to pursue it outwardly “To ensure a fully independent, impartial and just process,” his president said.
The investigation comes during intensive ICC and d -Khan control after his request for Arrest curtains related to the Israel-Hama war – Including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for supposed war crimes in Gaza.
Israel is not a member of the ICC and his government, along with Netanyahu, has categorically rejected the allegations.
In February this year, US President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on ICC employees until Netanyahu visits Washington.
ICC said US sanctions were set out on the court itself and called on their Member States and the global civil society “to unite for justice and fundamental human rights.”
