Insta360 Go Ultra Review: Better Video, but Bigger Package

Another place I see is the ACE Pro 2 footage is even higher in the fast panels or fast footage of the busy scene, such as filming from a single track bike through trees or bushes. ACE Pro 2 is probably more detailed because of the better lens on these situations.

Although most of the time, footage from Go Ultra and AC Pro is close enough to separate raw footage. I would usually say that the same is the case with X5, though of course you are capturing 360 degrees footage, which has the advantage.

Go Ultra has most shooting modes that you will find in other cameras of Insta 360, which includes 8-bit HDR, which is still a head scratcher (you need 10-bit footage to get the true HDR footage like you get from GOPRO and DJI camera). There are a few new modes, including a Todler Titan, which is designed to work with a hat clip accessories and capture the pov of your limestone monkey.

Stability is great and match what you get on the action cameras of Insa 360. At this point, the stability of every action camera I have tested has decreased and Geo Ultra is no exception.

The best thing about Go Ultra after video quality improved is now that it now takes a microSD card not just built -in storage. This means you can now keep up to 2-TB and you can shoot all day without thinking that you will fill the built-in storage.

Another bonus is the GO3S to 150 degrees to 156 degrees greater field (FOV). It doesn’t sound too much, but every bit helps in this case. For references, Gopro Hero 13 Black has an FOV 156 degrees and with Ultra Wide Lens mode that jumps to 177 degrees. Also new in Go Ultra is the ability to shoot 4K video in 2x zoom. HDR 4K is available including footage.

Downside

Go Ultra two things I don’t like. The first is the pod is not waterproof out of the box, so you need a separate lens cover, which is larger and a bit awkward when using it out of water. Nevertheless, I just left me there always and deal with the size because most of the time I want action camera, it’s probably because it’s going to be wet.
