Israel struck the hospital in Nasser at least four times during his deadly attack in South Gaza on Monday, an analysis of new video footage from the BBC opened.
The attack, which attracted international condemnation and widespread anger, has been reported to have killed at least 20 people, including five journalists.
Gaza’s initial reports said Israel hit the hospital twice, with the first explosion being followed nine minutes later by another, which hit the first reacting and journalists who arrived at the scene.
But a new analysis suggests that the hospital has been hit four times in total. The BBC checked and the expert analysis found that two staircases were hit almost simultaneously in the first wave, and while what was considered a single later attack, there are actually two separate strokes that hit the same place within a second.
Israel does not allow international journalists to enter Gaza independently. The BBC checks identify the additional strikes by analyzing dozens of videos provided by freelancer on the ground and material made by eyewitnesses that have spread online.
At the first incident, an Israeli blow Hit the outer staircase on the east side of the hospital at 10:08 local time (07:08 GMT), killing journalist Husama Al Masri, who managed a live television broadcast for Reuters.
The BBC Verify has already identified another undeclared blast on a north wing staircase practically at the same time, which is shaded by a double -touch impact on the east staircase.
The new footage shows that smoke is rising and damage on both stairs, while workers emergency cases said the hospital’s operating ward had been struck.

Other videos show that an early person was transferred to the northern staircase, and the nurse director to the hospital, who holds grated and bloody clothes, for which he believes a nurse while she works in the operating department when she was struck.
NR Jenzen -Jones – the director of the Armament Research Services, a weapons and ammunition intelligence company – said the staff “seem to indicate that they were damaging to the interior corresponding to a relatively small ammunition, including an entry hole.

About nine minutes later, while dozens of first responding and journalists gathered on the east staircase, the Israeli forces hit the facility again.
While the explosion was documented by the media at the time, the analysis of the frame of the new footage of the emerging staff clearly shows that two separate shells fired by Israeli forces have hit the hospital milliseconds at an open staircase, where journalists and emergency workers gathered.
Experts did not agree on the type of ammunition used in the third and fourth strikes.
Some ammunition analysts with which the BBC checks shared footage with identified shells such as Lahat missiles, a guided ammunition that can be launched from tanks, drones and helicopters. Several outlets in Israel suggest that the ammunition used against the hospital were fired from Israeli tanks located nearby.
Experts who talked to the BBC said the explosions could not be caused by any tank because of the rapid sequence in which the ammunition hit the hospital.
“If these lachets had been fired from the ground, then at least two tanks would be involved, as the interval between the two influences was too short,” said Amael Kclarski, an analyst for the Janes defense company. “No tank loader could recharge as quickly.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Jenzen-Jones said that “the impact of two shells at almost the same moment suggests that two tanks may have fired at the same time.”
Although he said it is not possible to finally identify the ammunition used, the obvious physical characteristics and a flight model “suggest” multipurpose “tank weapons, such as the Israeli M339 model.
Satellite images reviewed by the BBC, check the display of IDF forces at 2.5 km northeast of Nasser Hospital and during the shooting on the day of the attack. Other armored vehicles can be seen nearby.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said they had no further comments on the newly discovered explosions when they turned to the BBC Cerify.
Israel’s story of the attack develops after the attack on Monday. Initially, he said he had made a strike in the hospital area, saying that he “regretted any harm to not included persons” and that the initial investigation would be open as soon as possible, but did not provide excuse for the attack.
In the hours that followed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Israel was responsible and that “deeply regrets the tragic accident”S
On Tuesday, IDF said the initial investigation found that the troops had identified a camera located by Hamas in the hospital area “used to monitor the activities of IDF troops” without providing evidence.
IDF has not yet admitted that it performs more than one strike at the hospital against the background of the allegations of some international legal experts that it may have violated international law.
Deliberately committing attacks against civilians, which are “excessive in connection with the specific and direct military advantage, is prohibited under the Fourth Geneva Convention.
“The reasonable striker should expect dozens of civilian casualties as the hospital is full of protected persons,” said Professor Gianina Dill of the University of Oxford.
Prof. Dill added that “the very presence of equipment belonging to an opponent” does not mean that a hospital or medical facility loses its protected status under the laws of war.
At least 247 journalists have been killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, according to the UN, which makes it the most deadly conflict for reporters ever documented.
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.
Almost 62,900 people were killed in Gaza during the same period, according to Hamas Health Ministry.
