Israel reinforces urban attacks when the UN warns of displacement

Israeli forces are intensifying their attacks on the outskirts of Gaza, residents say as the military is setting up for a ground offensive to conquer it.

Hospitals have said women and children are among more than 30 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes in the city on Wednesday, most of them north and west.

The head of the Israeli military staff promised to “continue to hit Hamas’s gravitational centers until it was defeated” and his hostages were released.

The UN Groups and the aid have said that Israeli operations already have “terrifying humanitarian consequences” for displaced families shelter in the city that is home to a million people and where there was a hunger last month.

In the meantime, the Israeli protesters took part in what they called the “interruption day” to press their government to agree immediately a deal that would end the war in exchange for the release of all 48 Israeli and foreign hostages in Gaza, 20 of which are thought to be alive.

Hospital officials said Israeli strikes and shooting through the Gaza Strip killed at least 46 people from midnight.

The Gaza Hospital in Gaza said she had received the bodies of 21 people, including five killed when an Israeli military aircraft aimed an apartment in the western fisherman’s port zone.

One of the strikes killed the parents and two sisters of three -year -old Ibrahim al -Mabhu, his grandmother said.

Videos, published on social media overnight, appeared in a fire to an ambulance in the joint of the Sheikh Radwan clinic and another ambulance blazed on a nearby street.

Residents also told Reuters that Israeli forces were launching grenades in three Sheikh Radvan schools, which were used as shelters for displaced families, placing tents and exploding armored vehicles loaded with explosives to destroy homes in the eastern part of the neighborhood.

“Sheikh Radvan burns upside down. The occupation (Israel) destroyed houses, burned tents and drones played audio messages that ordered people to leave the area,” says Sakeya Sami, a 60-year-old mother in five.

Israeli military said they were checking the reports.

During a visit to Gaza on Wednesday, the Chief of Military Staff, Lieutenant Gen Aal for the troops, told the troops: “We entered the second phase of Operation” Gideon’s Corses “to fulfill the goals of the war.”

“The return of our hostages is both a moral and national mission. We will continue to hit the Hamas gravity centers until it is defeated.”

Hamas condemned what he calls “systematic destruction operations” by Israeli forces in Gaza, saying they were an “unprecedented violation of international law.

“My son Rum dies, starves and tortures. In his eyes you can see that he no longer wants to live. There is nothing more difficult that a father can witness when he can do nothing,” he said, according to Haaretz.

“How is it possible a month after my son’s video released, showing the horrors there, the government leaves it there? And the prime minister wants to conquer more territory? I can’t understand that.”

US President Donald Trump, who helped Broker’s previous fire and hostage transaction in January, wrote in social media: “Tell Hamas to return all 20 hostages immediately (not 2 or 5 or 7!) And things will change quickly. This will end!”

The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.

At least 63 746 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the health ministry in the territory.

The ministry also says that 367 people have so far died during the war as a result of malnutrition and hunger, including six in the last 24 hours.
