In the meantime, the Israeli military issued orders for an evacuation of a crowded part of Central Gaza, where it did not start the offensive during her 21 -month war against Hamas.

IDF said on Sunday that residents and displaced Palestinians are sheltered in Deir Al Balah, they should evacuate immediately and move to Al Mavasi on the Mediterranean coast.

The demand for an evacuation, which could signal an immediate attack, caused a wide panic among tens of thousands of Palestinians, as well as the families of Israeli hostage, who fear their relatives are holding in the city.

IDF has made air strikes in the area, but has not yet deployed ground troops.

On Sunday, the Israeli military missed leaflets from the sky, ordering people in several areas in Southwestern Deir Al Balah to leave their homes and head south.

“The defense forces continue to act with great force to destroy the opponent’s capabilities and terrorist infrastructure in the area,” the military said, adding that it had not yet entered these areas during the war.

The affected neighborhoods of Deir Al Balah are crowded with displaced people living in tents.

Israeli sources have told Reuters news agency that the reason why the army remains outside these areas is because they suspect that Hamas can hold hostages there.

It is estimated that at least 20 of the other 50 hostages in Gaza are still alive.
