Israeli PresidentThe body of Israeli hostage Ilan Weiss was restored to an operation in the Gaza Strip, the military in Israel said.
The 56 -year -old Weiss was killed during a Hamas attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
The remains of a second hostage whose identity has not yet been released have also been restored, says Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
Israel launched a large -scale offensive in Gaza after the attack, which killed 1,200 people and 251 returned to the territory as hostages.
After the last message, 48 hostages remain in gas – 20 of which Israel believes are still alive.

Weiss’s wife, Shiri and daughter, but were taken as hostages from Hamas on the same day. They were released during a temporary termination of fire in November 2023.
“Ilan showed the courage and a noble spirit when he struggled with the terrorists on that dark day,” said Israeli President Isaac The Duke, before praising “the exceptional power of Weiss’s family in their fight for his return.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing a strong internal pressure to agree to a deal that would allow the return of all hostages to still capture.
Huge protests are being held to end the war, as Israel insists forward with its plan to take over the city of Gaza and ultimately establish control over the entire strip. Netanyahu claims that Hamas’s defeat will ensure the hostages release.
The military in the country say it has begun the “original stages” of its advance in Gaza.
IDF said the planned pause in hostilities, which had to come into force at 10:00 (07:00 GMT), would not be applied in Gaza. It states that this is in line with the situational assessment and the directives of the political echelon. ”
In recent days, Israel has made air strikes in the city of Gaza and advised residents to make their way to improvised dwellings south of the Gaza Strip.
