Jen Pavol made us sports the story by becoming the first female judge to refer a Big League Baseball match (MLB) during the regular season.
The 48 -year -old Pawol watched the first base during the Saturday match between Miami Marlins and Atlanta Bravs.
“I’m aware of gravity. I’m aware of the magnitude,” she said, as cited by mlb.com.
Paul seemed joyful when he was greeted on the field in Atlanta, Georgia, with cheers and applause.
“It was quite amazing when we went on the field. It seemed that a lot of people started clapping and saying my name, so it was quite intense and very emotionally,” she said after the game.
During the match, supporters in the signs that kept signs, including “Pawol Making Herstory” and “Time came for one and everyone to play a ball.”
To mark the occasion, after the game Pawol donated the hat he wore to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Museum.
Pawol is ready to return to the pitch on Saturday night when it will be responsible for the third base.
All eyes will be directed to her on Sunday when she is behind the home plate, calling balls and strokes, in the last game of the three games series.
Pawol, a native of New Jersey, has worked as a judge in small leagues for years and has watched over 1,200 games in more than 30 years of career, MLB reported.
In order to support her, there were many of about 30 family and friends, including current players, managers and amprific to support her.
Her entry into MLB comes 28 years after the NBA has allowed its first female balancing judge. The National Football League (NFL) hired its first wife official official day 10 years ago, while the World Men’s Football Championship hired a women’s referee three years ago.
The National Hockey League has not yet seen a female referee.
