At least two people were killed and 54 injured, including children, in an attack of a rocket overnight and a drone against the capital of Ukraine Kiev, the mayor says.
Vitali Klitschko says the fallen drones have triggered a number of fires in the city and there are fears that many people can be trapped under the ruins of a destroyed residential building.
Later, the emergency service of Ukraine DSN later reports nine killed and 63 injured, citing preliminary data.
The explosions were also reported by local officials in the northeastern city of Harciv, which was also attacked. At least two people were injured.
In a social media publication, Mayor Klitschko writes that six children and a pregnant woman are among the injured in the Russian attack at night.
“Fires erupted in six places,” he said, adding that “people are under the ruins” there are a destroyed residential building.
The Savior’s teams were spotted staying through the remains while looking for survivors.
The worst was the western neighborhood of the capital of Western senior, Klitschko said.
Social media footage appeared, which is believed to have been launching huge flames.
In Harciv, about 40 km (25 miles) from the Russian border, two people were injured, said Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
He said the “private houses” were damaged in a rocket attack and drones overnight.
The Air Force of Ukraine has warned that almost all regions of the country are under the threat of air strikes.
The Russian military did not comment on the reported attacks.
