Macron breaks Trump because of Ukraine’s funding

Following his meeting in the Oval Cabinet on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron interrupted US President Donald Trump while they were taking questions from reporters.

Trump said European countries “borrow” Ukraine’s money. “They get their money back,” he added.

Macron put a hand on Trump’s hand and said that Ukraine’s financing in Europe was in the form of loans, guarantees and grants and included “real money”.

• The couple met on the third anniversary of the full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, a week after the United States began peace talks with Russia without participating directly in Europe.
