A 23-year-old Mexican influence on social media has been shot dead while a live streaming of Ticktock, the State Prosecutor’s Office said.

Valeria Marquez was killed when a man entered her beauty salon in the city of Guadalahara “and apparently fired a gun at her,” according to a prosecutor’s office in Jalisco.

The motive for the fatal attack has not been identified, but the case is investigated as a femicide – when women and girls are killed for their gender, the State Prosecutor said.

Gender -based violence is very common in Mexico, where the UN reports that 10 women or girls are killed every day by partners or family members.

Moments before her death, Da Marquez was sitting at a table, holding a stuffed animal in her beauty salon in the suburb of a prep, making alive.

Seconds later, she is shot dead, with the footage only ending when another person picks up her phone to stop the recording.

Local media reports say she was killed by a man who pretends to bring her a gift.

Police arrived at the scene at about 6:30 pm local time (12:30 GMT) and confirmed the death of Gja Marquez, according to the State Prosecutor.

The prosecutor’s office did not specify a suspect.

Gia Marquez fans, whose social media follow nearly 200,000 on Tiktok and Instagram, reacted with the horror of her death.

Propan Mayor Juan Jose Frangi said his cabinet had no data on G -Ja Marquez demanding help from the authorities for threats to it, adding that “femicide is the richest thing,” according to AFP news agency.

The State Prosecutor says forensic experts are investigating the shooting.
