Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates says most of his $ 200 billion wealth ($ 150 billion) will be spent to improve health and educational services in Africa over the next 20 years.

The 69-year-old said that “by unfolding human potential through health and education, every country in Africa must be on the way to prosperity.”

Speaking in the capital of Ethiopia Addis Ababa, he also called on the young innovators of Africa to think about how to build artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the healthcare on the continent.

Gates Declared last month that he would distribute 99% of his huge wealth until 2045, when his foundation plans to end his operations.

“I have recently made a commitment that my wealth will be distributed in the next 20 years. The bigger part of this funding will be spent to help you cope with the challenges here in Africa,” he said in an African Union.

The former first lady of Mozambique Gracha Machel welcomed his message, saying it was in “moment of crisis.”

“We rely on the unwavering commitment of G -n Gates to continue to go this path of transformation around us,” she said.

The US government has reduced Africa’s help, including HIV/AIDS patients treatment programs as part of US President President Donald Trump’s President Donald Trump, which raises concerns about the future of the continent’s health.

Gates said its foundation, which has a long history of work in Africa, will focus on improving primary healthcare.

“What we have learned is to help the mother be healthy and have a great meal before she becomes pregnant while she is pregnant, he gives the most strong results,” he said.

“Guaranteeing the child gets a good nutrition for the first four years also does everything different.”

In a message to the young innovators, the technology billionaire noted that mobile phones have revolutionized banking in Africa and claimed that AI should now be used in favor of the continent.

“Africa has largely skipped traditional banking and now you have a chance as you build your next -generation health systems to think about how AI is embedded in this,” he said.

Gates cited Rwanda as an example, saying it was already improving services using AI ultrasound to identify high -risk pregnancies.

The Gates Foundation has said there are three priorities: termination of preventable deaths for mothers and babies, ensuring that the next generation is growing without having to suffer from deadly infectious diseases and eliminate millions of people from poverty.

“At the end of 20 years, the foundation will flood its operations,” a message said.

Last month, Gates said he would speed up his giving through his foundation.

“People will say a lot about me when I die but I am determined that” he dies rich “won’t be one of them” He wrote in a blog postS

The distribution of 99% of his wealth can still leave the fifth richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg.

Together with Paul Allen, Gates founded Microsoft in 1975, and the company soon became a dominant force in software and other technology industries.

Gates has gradually retired from the company in recent decades, resigning as its CEO in 2000 and as chairman in 2014.

He said he was inspired to give money from investor Warren Buffett and other philanthropists.

However, critics of his foundation claim that Gates uses his charity status to avoid tax and that he has an unjustified impact on the global health system.
