In the end, Emanuel Macron’s husband was also unable to pull him.
When Sebastien Director was appointed Prime Minister of France three and a half weeks ago, the rotation was that this was President Macron’s last map.
Last card, they told us, but good.
The 39-year-old was a presidential protége-loyal, humble, indestructive. It was believed that it was necessary to determine a discreet deal between parties and to save French policy from implosion.
But as it turns out, this was not the case.
Lecornu may have dropped in even more inconvenient circumstances than his two unfortunate predecessors.
At least Michel Barnier and Francois Bayro chaired briefly over their governments and brought several ideas.
Guard, on the other hand, baptized his cabinet late on Sunday afternoon and had lost it until Monday morning. He even failed to make his introductory address to parliament, which was planned for Tuesday.
His government lasted exactly 14 hours.
The immediate cause of his Kalamite Finn de regime is already clear. It was the Conservative Republican Party (LR) and their leader, Minister of the Interior Bruno Deptile.
With its 40 or more MPs, LR has become a key part of the right -wing union trying to rule France.
Retailleau has made much of his presence in the government about the design of himself and his party as natural candidates for state offices.
Earlier on Sunday, he had told Derknu that he was ready to stay like a minister. But within an hour after the announcement of the cabinet, he published on social media that there was a change in heart: LR may not join after all.
Officially, it was because Derorno had made the dirty, named former Finance Minister Bruno Le Myre for his choice of defense.
Le Maire – a former party colleague – is a special LR bug, partly because he has betrayed them by joining Macron and partly because they accuse him of letting French duty go out of control when he controls the country’s finances.
Either way, LR blames Lecornu for hiding the Le Maire nomination – obviously Retaillau didn’t learn about it until he turned on his television.
And at the end of Monday there was a new twist. Le Meir agreed not to become a minister, and Macron gave his output prime minister at 48 hours to see if he could convince LR in the government.
So the situation remains liquid.
Whatever happens, the deeper the truth is that the more time passes, the more difficult it will be for everyone -even the most gifted of Macron Acolytes -to create a stable government.
Why? As the more time passes, the closer France comes to its next big election moment – the election for the President of the French President in 2027.
Macron is so unpopular today that everyone who associates with it risks a heavy beating the next time the public gets a chance to vote.
As a result, the Frosen Right Union in the heart of Macron-Eland is now beginning to split.
LRs are out, but many centists are also starting to murmur. Even the simultaneous president of former Prime Minister Gabriel Atal retains his distance.
If he feels like dusk of an era, then that’s it. The loyal ones leave, preparing for a world without Macron. It may not be that far away.
