Vietnam ordered over 586,000 people to be evacuated before Typhoon Kaji arrives.

The storm already packed winds of 166 km/h (103 miles/h) and is expected to be reinforced before making the land on Monday, weather forecasts said.

People from the central provinces of Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Hue and Da Nang are ordered to leave their homes. The flights were canceled and the boats said to stay ashore.

The storm is overcome along Hainan in China, where the country’s time agency said it was estimated to be up to 320 mm (12.6 inches) rain.

BBC Weather says Typhoon Kajiki is expected to weaken while moving inside Vietnam, but still throws the country with winds of 200 km/h and was expecting rainfall of 300-400 mm.

The storm of 2-4 m (6.6-13 feet) is also expected.

Authorities have told people in the estimated path that do not go outdoors after 14:00 GMT on Sunday. The soldiers are for help, they said.

“The situation is extremely dangerous and not safe for vehicles or structures such as tourist or fishing ships and aquaculture growing facilities,” AFP news agency cited employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment.

Vietnam Airlines canceled at least 22 flights to and from central cities on Sunday and Monday.

Officials fear that the storm can be as devastating as Yagi last September – a deadly typhoon that killed hundreds of people in the region, including 300 in Vietnam alone.
