Many people in and around the Italian city of Naples spent the night on the streets and in their cars after an earthquake shook buildings and brought ruins that crashed.
Italian seismologists said that the tremor with magnitude 4.4 struck at 01:25 local time on Thursday (00:25 GMT) at a shallow depth of three kilometers (two miles). The US geological survey measures it as 4.2 tremor with a depth of 10 km.
Power in parts of Naples was disturbed.
In the nearby town of Pozuli, near the epicenter of the earthquake, an early man is pulled by the ruins of a partially demolished house.
Naples sits on the Flegrani Fields, a volcanic pool that makes the area in southern Italy, predisposed to earthquakes.
