Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi blames South African Police Minister in links with criminal bands

Police Minister Senzo Machun is accused of having ties with Criminal gangs and intervention in police investigations on politically motivated killings.

These explosive allegations were made by the Kyazulu Nallah police chief at a press briefing on Sunday.

He said that Machunu receives financial support from a supposedly corrupt businessman to fund his “political endeavors”.

Since then, Machunu has denied what he believes is “wild allegations” while President Cyril Ramafosa said they are from “serious care of national security” and “receive the highest priority attention”.

Vusimuzi Matlala had a lucrative contract with the police before being abruptly canceled when he was arrested for attempted murder in May. Gen Mkhwanazi shared copies of text messages and payment, which is said to be Matlala to prove this.
