Police Minister Senzo Machun is accused of having ties with Criminal gangs and intervention in police investigations on politically motivated killings.
These explosive allegations were made by the Kyazulu Nallah police chief at a press briefing on Sunday.
He said that Machunu receives financial support from a supposedly corrupt businessman to fund his “political endeavors”.
Since then, Machunu has denied what he believes is “wild allegations” while President Cyril Ramafosa said they are from “serious care of national security” and “receive the highest priority attention”.
The Mkhwanazi gene describes in detail a sequence of events that he claims to have led to the “orchestrated” dissolution of a working group created in 2018 to investigate the murder of politicians, mainly in kwazulu-natal.
The Gen. Mr. said that the team investigations had discovered ties with high -ranking persons – including politicians, police officers and businessmen involved in a drug union – and that is why the team was dissolved.
When he dissolved the unit earlier this year, Machuna said he did not add value to the province, although many cases remain unresolved.
According to the Mkhwanazi gene, a total of 121 cases were eliminated by the unit under the Minister’s Instruction and without the permission of its boss, National Police Commissioner Fanny Masemola.
“These docks in March are sitting in the central office because without investigators. Five of these dooms have already had instructions for (effect) arrests.”
The chief of the provincial police also claims that Machunu had relationships with a controversial businessman who “financially supports” the minister’s political career.
Vusimuzi Matlala had a lucrative contract with the police before being abruptly canceled when he was arrested for attempted murder in May. Gen Mkhwanazi shared copies of text messages and payment, which is said to be Matlala to prove this.
The Masemola gene said he would turn to these allegations later during the week when he announced the appointment of the temporary crime intelligence chief.
The chief of criminal intelligence LT-Gen Dumisani Khumalo was arrested for allegations of fraud and corruption last month.
Gen Humalo and the other six were linked to a continued investigation into a suspected misuse of intelligence and potentially illegal appointments at the South Africa Police Service (SAPS).
