Many agencies concentrate on hardware components to create or help them with Move, Grip objectsOr Interact with the world Around them. Silicon Valley-based openmind hood is focused on the bottom.
Open -Mind Creating a software level for humanoid robots that serve as an operating system, creating OM1. The company compares itself to being Android for robotics because its software is open and hardware agnostic.
Openmind founder Stanford Professor Jane Lifordt told TechCrunch that Humanoids and other robots have been able to do repetitive work for almost a few decades. But now that humanoids are being developed in use that requires more human-to-to-me-me-me-me-in-the-manthind, such as having humanoids in your home, they need a new operating system that feels more like humans.
“Suddenly, this world is inaugurated, where the machines are able to contact people in such a way, I have never seen before,” Lifardt said. “We are very convinced here that it is not just about humans, we really think ourselves as an organization that is a cooperation between machines and people.”
Openmind unveiled a new protocol called fabric on Monday that allows the robot to verify identity and share context and information with other robots.
In contrast to humans, the machines can learn almost immediately, Leafardt said, which means giving them better way to connect to other robots, allowing them to easily train and absorb new information.
Lifardt gave examples of languages and share data on how robots can connect to each other and how to speak different languages, which will help you to communicate better with more people without teaching each language directly by any human being.

“People make it dignified that they can contact any other human on earth.” “People have created a lot of infrastructure around us that allow us to believe in other people, to call them, to text them, and to interact and to adjust, and to do things together MAC machines are certainly not going to be different.”
Openmind was founded in 2024 and was ready to send the first fleet of 10 OM1 powered robotic dogs in September. Lifardt said he was a big believer in to find the technology there and repeat it after the truth.
“We fully hope that all the people will host these quadrilaterals, they will return with a long list of their choice or they don’t want it, and then it depends on us very quickly, very quickly and improves the machines,” he said.
The company recently raised a $ 20 million fund led by Pants Capital with the participation of Ribit, Coinbase Ventures and Pebalbed among other strategic investors and angel investors.
Now, the company is focusing on its technologies to enter people’s homes and start repeating the product.
“The most important thing for us is to get out the robots and get feedback,” Lifardt said. “Our goal as a company is to do these tests as much as we can, so that we can detect interesting opportunities very quickly where the capacity of robots today is matching the best against people who are looking for people.”
