OpenVBAn app that is Lets you follow open social networks Like bluski, mastodon, ThreadAnd Naster is now expanding its effectiveness in one place so you can follow your favorite news sites and blogs. To do this, the startup is adding support for RSS (alias really simple syndication or news feeds), an open value that allows you to subscribe to automatic updates from websites like new articles or blog posts.
Without switching between multiple newsricers, website or social networking applications make OpenVB more effective in maintaining your interest and other important information.
The new feature puts OpenVB into a further direct competition with other social media and content agigators that track updates across the open web. This includes competitors TapestryThe company’s new app that once created a popular Twitter client known as Twitteric; FeeeedAn RSS reader that supports tracking social profiles on Mastoadon, YouTube and other platforms; And SurfA new exposed social application and browser from the creators of the flipboard.

OpenVB chief executive officer Matez Swavanser has said that since last year, RSS support was always part of the long -term roadmap of the app. However, the feature was made a lot by the user base, so the team gave priority to its development, he said.
To use the feature, you may choose to add RSS sources one by one, check the app’s suggested sites and tap “Follow” those you want to track, or import your entire OPML file from another news reader. After more people accept the RSS, OpenVib will introduce a leadersboard that shows the most associated feeds to directly assist users in popular sources.
Once added, you can track RSS updates on the “RSS” feed “RSS” in the joint home feed of the app, or you can add RSS feeds to your custom feed.
Although the RSS podcast and YouTube channels can also be used to track, OpenVB does not yet focus on those formats, tells the Sovancer TechCrunch. He may be technically possible to add them to the app but it will not provide any good user experience, he explains – unless you think you have nothing to open each item in a browser.

With news and blogs, however, openly opens the content of the app using a clean, scattered-free reading mode on OpenVeb. If you prefer to see websites in a browser, you can change this setting.
Also, the application provides a “performance mode” toggle that will stop loading in the timeline previews to make the feature even lower resources.
The company is experimenting with the RSS feature before launching, with more than 5 people who have come together, added more than 5 feeds.
RSS support is now available in OpenVB’s iOS and Android applications. The app itself has been free to download without purchasing the app, but the company plans to launch a future subscription offer.
