Brazilian police said a bombing bomb planned for Lady Gaga’s concert on Kopakabana beach in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, coordinated with the Ministry of Justice, said the suspects had hired participants to attack, using improvised explosives and the plan was aimed at acquiring prominence in social media.
The person responsible for the plan and a teenager has been arrested, police at X.
A crowd of more than two million people gathered for the concert, which was free to attend.
Police said the group that planned the attack had spread hate speech, mainly against children, adolescents and LGBTQIA+ Community.
The alleged leader was arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm in the southern state of Rio Grande to Sul, while the teenager was detained for storing child pornography in Rio.
The responsible ones also promoted the radicalization of teenagers, including self -harm and violent content “as a form of belonging and challenging among young people.”
The Ministry of Justice said the suspects had identified themselves as Lady Gaga fans, widely known as “small monsters”.
