Pope seen without usual papal clothing

Pope Francis was seen without his traditional papal clothing when he visited St. Peter’s Basilica on Thursday.

The pontiff briefly stopped congratulating visitors as he sat in a wheelchair, dressed in black pants, a white long -sleeved shirt and a striped blanket draped around his shoulders. He also had an oxygen tube under his nose.

On Wednesday he held a private meeting in the Vatican with King Charles and Queen CamillaWhere they wished them a happy 20th wedding anniversary. In images released by the Vatican, the Pope can see that he wears his usual white papal clothing – also called a home dress.

Pope, 88, was discharged from the hospital at the end of March After five weeks of treatment and recovers in the Vatican.
