Putin, Modi and other world leaders in China for the summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are among the twenty world leaders who attend a regional security summit in China.

Ci Jinping, President of China, also talks with Modi before the annual Shanhai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the port city of Tiangin. It has been in China for the first time in China for seven years.

The summit comes when US President Trump imposed steep rates for Indian goods as a punishment for the prolonged purchase of Russian oil in Delhi, and Putin faces threats of sanctions on his ongoing war against Ukraine.
