This is irony Charging the wirelessThe It’s great not to blink with wires! Nowadays most wireless charging devices follow the QI (pronounced chi) standard, which has taken time to reach the ubiquitous. (The user experience was not always great.) The wireless power consortium that operates the charging protocol announced the next generation version of the early Q23 and we finally started viewing the devices that supported it. It promises perfect alignment with the possibilities of accessories to bridge the Android and iPhone division.
Sadly, QI2 we have never rolled as fast or widely as we expected this year. Until August 2024, there is only one QI-2-respected Android phone, HMD Skyline (6-10, wired review), And we were disappointed to know that we didn’t work with some old QI charger. Q2 What is Unstak coming?
Updated on August 2024: We have added details about the acceptance of Q2, explaining the alternatives to various credentials and adding unwanted news that some QI2 device cannot charge with QI charger.

Q2 is the new Open Wireless Charging Standard Wireless power consortium (WW), and it brings important upgrades on the original QI standard. The title is the magnetic power profile (MPP), which is based on Apple Magseph technologyThe (Apple QI2 was involved in development)) It allows QI-branded devices to ensure perfect alignment with the charger and add a ring of magnets to allow fast charging speed.
There is one more value, nonmagnetic wireless charging extended power profile (EPP). It has led Something confusedThe Paul Golden of WPC, EPP refers to a device that adheres to the specification, but it is not officially QI2 and cannot use the logo thus or cannot be referred to as QI2 device. The Golden Ward told the Golden Ward that these devices would “carry QI logo, not QI2, and packaging and/or marketing materials contain a required statement that the device does not have magnets. Any device labeled on Q2 should include MPP and of course magnet.”
Q2 is fully compatible behind, so you can charge an old QI Android phone or Magsaf iPhone in the QI2 charger. We have done several tests, and this seems to be true. We expected any old QI chargers to charge QI2 devices, though slow, but it is not true that it is not true. For example, HMD Skyline does not work with several old QI chargers we have tested and it seems that it may be equal to the course. We need to wait for more QI2 phones, but heavyweights like Google and Samsung failed to accept QI2 in their latest flagships.
