Rodion KuznetsovThe Russian rescue services have discovered the remains of an airplane that disappeared about 16 km (10 miles) from its destination in the distant area of Amur.
The Angara Airlines An-24 Airplane, carrying 43 passengers and six crews, had left Blagovshchensk near the Chinese border and disappeared from Radara as he approached the Tand Airport, emergency officers said.
Amur regional governor Vasili Orlov said that “all necessary resources” were located to find the aircraft. Five children were among those on board, he added.
Shortly thereafter, Russia’s Emergency Ministry said the Russian civil aviation helicopter had noticed a burning fuselage from the aircraft.
Amur Civil Protection Center said the plane was found on a hill about 16 km (10 miles) from Tinda, Tas News reported.
Emergency services said the rescuers were heading for the scene.
The AN-24 aircraft was on the last foot on a route from Habarovsk in the distant southeast of Russia.
