Family distributionRescuers in Indonesia are looking for a Brazilian tourist who fell while walking near the crater of the Rinjani Mountain, an active volcano.
The Brazilian media and the woman’s family described her as 26-year-old Juliana Marins, who went with a group when she disappeared around 6:30 local time on Saturday.
The Brazilian authorities said it had fallen from “a rock that surrounds the path to the crater of the volcano.”
So far, attempts to search and rescue have been unsuccessful due to extreme terrain and foggy weather, according to Indonesian authorities.
The authorities of Mount Rinjani Park said in a social media publication that rescuers on Saturday had heard the screams of G -Ja Marins for help. By the time he was safe, although she looked in shock, they said.
Parks with drones and other videos captured by tourists who are distributed online and worn by Brazilian media also seem to show that she is alive on Saturday. She was seen sitting and moving around in gray soil, far under a pedestrian walkway.
But later the same day, rescuers could not find her when they went down 300 meters (984 feet) to where they believed she was, nor did she answer when they called her.
By Sunday morning, drone footage showed that she was no longer in her place, said authorities in a park, which added that thick fog had prevented the rescue efforts and had influenced the use of a thermal drone.
On Monday, rescuers were able to find G -Ja Marins, who seemed to have fallen even more, but had to stop work due to the “climatic conditions”, according to the family.
The rescuers were “only 250 meters advanced, they were left at 350 meters to reach Juliana, but they retired,” the family said in their social media account.
The family also claims that the park remains open and that tourists still walked the same route “while Juliana needs help! We do not know the state of her health! She still has no water, food or warm clothes for three days!”
The BBC contacted G -Jza Marins and Mount Rinjani Park’s authorities for comment.

One said the climb was “really difficult” and “it was so cold, it was really, really difficult.”
Another said that during the incident, Ja Marins was in the back of group tourism with their leader. “It was really early, before sunrise, under poor visibility conditions with just a simple lantern to light the terrain that was difficult and slippery,” he said.
The Brazilian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it was related to the Indonesia government and sent two employees to the embassy to monitor rescue efforts.
Satyawan Pudyatmoko, an employee of the Ministry of Forests in Indonesia, said on Monday that climbers should prioritize their safety during tourism.
In 2022, a Portuguese man died after falling from a rock to the top of the Rinjani Mountain. In May this year, the Malaysian tourist died after falling as he climbed the volcano.
With an altitude of over 3700 m, the Rinjani Mountain is the second highest volcano in Indonesia and a popular tourist site with tourists.
