Russian Vladimir Putin and China XI Jinping start talks in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have launched bilateral negotiations in Beijing, on the eve of a massive military parade in the Chinese capital.

Putin welcomes relations between the parties, saying they are on an “unprecedented level”.

“Dear friend, both me and the whole Russian delegation are happy to meet once again with our Chinese friends and colleagues,” Putin told the XI, according to a video posted in the official Kremlin telegram announcement app.

“Our close communication reflects the strategic nature of relations between Russia and China, which are at an unprecedented high level,” he added.

“We were always together and now we stay together.”

He told Putin that “relations with China -Russia have endured the international change test” -adding that Beijing is ready to work with Moscow to “encourage the construction of a more rillow and reasonable global governance system”.

The XI will host the largest military parade in China on Wednesday, which will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Japanese show to China at the end of World War II.

In May, he was similarly visited by Moscow for Russia’s festivities to mark the defeat of the Nazis.

This week, meetings come at a time when XI strives to design Beijing’s power on the international stage – not only as the second largest economy in the world, but also as a diplomatic heavyweight category.

The XI emphasized China’s role as a stable trading partner, while US President Donald Trump’s rates have increased economic relations around the world.

Now, as the deal with the Russian leader to end the war in Ukraine continues to avoid Trump, the welcome of Putin’s SI in Beijing is demonstrating his close relationships.

The couple had previously advertised the relations of their countries as “friendship without restriction.”

Putin said the summit – which was also attended by world leaders from India, Iran and Pakistan – laid the foundations for a new system to replace “outdated Eurocentric and Euro -Atlantic models”.

North Korea leader Kim Jong -un will also attend the military parade on Wednesday, what will be a remarkable visit after crossing the border in China on his special train early on Tuesday.

This is the first multilateral international meeting of Kim. For the first time in decades, the North Korean leader will attend a Chinese military parade – the last time it happened was when Kim’s grandfather, founder of North Korea, Kim Ir -Sung, was present in 1959.

Most Western leaders are not expected to appear at the parade due to their opposition to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, causing sanctions on Putin’s regime.
