Rwanda said he was withdrawing from a regional block of Central Africa after a diplomatic dispute over his participation in the conflict in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The country had to take on the role of chairman of the Economic Community of the Central African countries (ECCAS), which revolves between its 11 members.
But it was prevented from doing so at a meeting Saturday in Equatorial Guinea.

Last year, the report of UN experts said that up to 4,000 Rwanda troops were fighting with the rebels.

Rwanda once earlier in 2007 left Eccas, whose mission was to encourage cooperation and strengthen regional integration in Central Africa. He joined again a few years later.
