Several people were killed after a passenger train derailed in southwestern Germany, a report by German media.

Police told the German news agency DPA that at least three people were also injured in the crash near Ridlingen near Stuttgart to the Southwest. The reports say there was a storm in the area shortly before.

About 100 people were aboard the train when at least two carriages were derailed into a wooded area around 18:10 local time (17:10 BST), DPA reported.

The images of the crash show that the carriages turned to their countries and a severe presence of emergency services. Fallen trees can also be seen on stage.
