A fire that torn through a shopping center in the Iraqi city of Kut has left dozens of dead and injured, state media reported.
The blade in the mall, which is reported to have opened five days ago, broke out on Wednesday night and has been under control since then.
“The number of victims has reached about 50 people,” Province Governor Wasit Mohammed al-Miahi told the Iraqi Ina Agency.
Most of the victims in the fire were women and children, he said, adding that legal action would be filed against the owner of the mall.
Videos in the Ina Flames news channel were torn through several floors of a multi -storey building while firefighters were trying to pull them out.
Other videos circulating on social media seem to show a small number of people on the roof during the fire, as well as the burned -out insides of the center.
