A senior employee at one of the largest political parties in South Africa was fired after he visited a controversial Malawi pastor in April.
Floyd Shivthabu was removed as the secretary of the Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party secretary at only six months at work after he visited the Easter service in the church of a self -proclaimed pastor shepherd.
Malawi’s Bushiri was one of the most famous preachers in South Africa when he was arrested and charged with fraud in South Africa in 2020.
After being released on bail, he managed to escape to his homeland in unclear circumstances. South Africa has been trying to extradite him since.
Bushiri denies any misconduct.
The MK Party, founded by former President Jacob Zuma, told a press conference on Wednesday that the removal of G -N -Shivwambu had come after his actions were found to be against the spirit and prescriptions of the MK Party Constitution.
“The president and national officials were left without any other option but to act quickly,” said the official Nath Nhleko.
He added that the trip “is not an officially sanctioned program of the organization.
However, the Shivambu remains a member of the party and will instead represent MK in the National Assembly.
Responding to the news of his decline, Shivwabou said that he “fully accepted” the decision made by the party and eagerly awares his new role in parliament.
G -Shvambu joined the MK Party last August by competing economic freedom (EFF) and was later appointed Secretary General -one of the best positions of the party.
Under the leadership of former President Zuma, the newly formed MK Party came to third place in the election last year, a major factor in the management of the ANC, which lost its majority for the first time after the 1994 democratic elections were introduced.
