Space Solar Startup Extreflax, founded by Robinhood Bizu Bhatt, has collected $ 50 million in a series as it worked to launch its first lower Earth orbital demonstration in 2026.
San Carlos, California -based startup, which came Out of Steelth last OctoberIn the end, the lower world orbital satellite launches a constellation that can collect and transmit “ground stations” directly to the earth. This is an idea that was initially driven by the short story of the 1941 of Isaac Asimov. Bhatt focuses on this science fantasy conversion to reality.
First of all, Atherflax needs to get a satellite for the orbit to prove the technology, “To show that we have made this transformative progress from people who are not powering from people, for the first time, there is power from the place,” the founder and CEO of the startup told Bhattkkank.
At least, this is the goal with the launch of the next year, which will be supported by the new capital atherflax raised. Bhatt brings the Round to Ethherflax’s total funds to $ 60 million after investing in its own fund’s Million 10 million companies. Bill Gates’s Breakthrew Energy Ventures, Andresen Horovits and NEA, along with Jared Leto, were led by other interesting names like Jared Lateo, and other interesting names were led by Index Venture and Interlagos, as well as Jared Lateo.
Bhatt, who joined us TechCrunch Equity Podcast Earlier this year, TechCrunch told that Atharflax would use funds for more engineers and invest in the technology and infrastructure required for its first few missions.
Bhatt said, “Our team is now initially focusing on the Payloads of the bus sitting at the top of the bus … It is the power that the satellite bus produces and turns it into laser energy,” Bhatt said.
Atherflax is using TopIts sheep satellite lives. A satellite bus is the main structure and system of a satellite that provides the function necessary for its activities such as energy, trends and communication. Most buses produce energy through solar panels and Bhatt says that energy – as much kilowatt power – will be sent back to the earth via laser.
At the end of the receipt, the “ground stations” of Atherflax will have a photoovoltike array that converts to sunlight into energy that is stored on batteries for subsequent use. Bhatt said that his team, which is composed of NASA, SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, Anduril and US Navy engineers and researchers, is also working to create the first ground station in Ethorflax. The startup still has no position for the station, but it is evaluating military sites where there are more controlled air space.
In the future, Bhatt says that the goal is small, portable ground stations – anywhere in diameter of five to 10 meters – to bring electricity to the most remote places.
“The thing we want to show [with the first mission] Bhatt said, “To establish power connection from the end to the end.
Very few people have achieved the credit for sending solar power to the earth. One of the only successful missions was when researchers were in 2023 Caltech’s Space Solar Power Project Wireless power transfer from the low-end orbit using microwave beaming. This proved the idea, however, is less than a skeletal, less than atorflux pitch for a commercial system.
The rise of the atherflax comes behind A reward From the Defense Department’s Operational Energy Improvement Fund to develop space solar power for US military forces.
