Suspect by Australia Police, appointed as Manhant continues

Australian police continued a huge search of a highly armed man suspected of shooting and killing two officers in a rural town.

Ten police officers were fired on Tuesday after traveling to the property in Porepunka – about 300 km (186 miles) northeast of Melbourne – to execute an order for alleged sexual crimes.

Almost 24 hours later, police have indicated a suspect for a local man, Desi Freeman, 56 years old, and confirmed that he is “still at large”.

Police have deployed officers, a helicopter and armored vehicles in the area and warned the locals to stay inside until G -n Freman is caught.

“We pour every resource into demand,” said Victoria Mike Bush Chief Commissioner.

“Be vigilant, beware of safety.”

Earlier, he said the two officers were “killed in cold blood” and identified them as a 59-year-old detective and a 35-year-old senior police officer-but said their names would not be released until relatives were informed.

A third officer who was injured in the shooting was already out of the operation, said D -B Bush, and although “significantly damaged”, he will recover.

He also addressed previous reports of the local media that G -N Freman had taken his hostage family, adding that the police had talked to his partner and their children and they were safe.

Authorities have not had observations of G -N Freman since he escaped after the shooting and focused on the “dense area of ​​the bush” near his home.

“He will know this area better than us, so we invest every expert supported by local knowledge,” said G -n Bush.

“Our understanding is that he understands Bushcraft well, which provides us with a challenge.”

Surrounded by highly wooded hills in the Australian Alps, Porepunkah is only about an hour away from a car from the new border of South Wales.

The Bush added that the police were searching for a “very, very wide” area and also examined whether the freeman could have left the state -although there was no “information” at that moment, which would have suggested that this had happened.
