Dozens of former employees have talked to the BBC about their role, applying the brutality of the Assad regime – including a person who said he tortured the detainees, then defective in 2012.
The first -hand testimony is part of the BBC investigation into the famous prisons of Syria with its former President Bashar al -Assad, which was overthrown last December.
The UN report this year said that detention and torture under the former regime represent crimes against humanity.
Syrian human rights groups believe that about 100,000 people have disappeared under Assad’s 24-year rule.
The BBC agreed to conceal the identity of the former regime officials he or she talks about because of the value of their testimonies.
