South Korea arrested a high school teacher and the student’s father who allegedly stormed school late at night to steal exam documents.
Their experience took place at 01:20 local time on July 4 (18:20 GMT) at a school in Andong, a city southeast of Seoul, but was bare when the school’s security alarm came out.
The teacher is faced with bribery and violation while the father is charged with violation.
The manager of the facilities at the school, who has allegedly spoke with the duo, has also been arrested for authorizing theft and illegal entry into the school.
Authorities say that the teacher has privately trained the child of the arrested father – which teachers have actively hired from schools in South Korea, have no right to do.
The student is “constantly maintaining the best degrees”, according to public television operator KBS, but it is unclear whether their academic record is related to previous cases of theft of the examination.
Police also suspect that the money has changed their hands between the father and the teacher and that this is not their first attempt to penetrate, KBS reported.
This incident is the latest in a series of scandals related to exams in South Korea, a country, notorious with its hyperconcure education system.
In June, police announced that it was investigating the expiration of responses to a national English exam through an online chat.
In February, 249 people were detained – dozens of school teachers among them – for sale of layout questions about High betting exam Suneung to private academies.
And at the end of 2023, dozens of students judged the government after teachers accidentally Cut their test short 90 seconds.
South Korea is consistently ranked among industrialized countries with the highest levels of stress for young people aged 11 to 15 years.
