Teachers in elementary schools arrested for indecent images

Police arrested two teachers at Japan Primary School for accepting and sharing obscene images of young girls in a chat group with fellow teachers.

The two men, a 42-year-old teaching at a Nagoya State School and a 37-year-old, based at Jokohama State School, admitted that she was taking several photos and videos of girls under 13 years of age, local police told the BBC.

The images – including the so -called Upskirt photos – were shared in the group of 10 teachers in basic and junior high schools, which are managed by one of the arrested.

Japan has only recently banned Upskirting and the secret shooting of sexual acts as part of wider sexual crimes reforms.

The chat group of teachers came to light after one of the participating teachers was arrested for having “deposited body fluids” on the backpack of a 15-year-old girl, Japan Asahi Shimbun reported.

A forensic examination of his mobile phone then led to the opening of the chat group, which hosted an unnamed social media platform. Shared material included gender photos, as well as videos of girls who change, and what looked like “DeepFakes” created by the girls’ head.

Some of these photos seem to have been taken in the schools, the police said, but it is unclear if these are schools are members of the groups taught.
