The investigation was released on Tuesday, the Security Organization’s Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), who received nine reports from the owners after they could not get into their car. ODI writes that parents are involved in the most common scene who gets out of their car and cannot open the back door to remove their kids.
According to the ODI report, the owners had to break a window “to get back into the vehicle” in these four cases.
Bloomberg news comes a few days after the news of the investigation comes Investigating a series of events Where Tesla owners (and passengers) were stuck inside their vehicles after the accident.
According to the ODI initial review, the electronic door locks may become unable to get adequate voltage from the vehicle’s battery system. However, ODI also mentions in his preliminary report that the agency related to the problem with the short-voltage battery alert.
Teslars have a manual door release of vehicles, though they are just inside the vehicle. Doors releases according to ODIs can be difficult to access children and some owners don’t even know them.
It is possible to restore energy in the electronic door locks according to the manual of Tesla, but this is a multi-step process that requires an external energy source.
