The Bolivia bus crash kills at least 37 people

At least 37 people were killed and 30 remained injured after two passenger buses collided in Bolivia, police said.

The crash happened early on Saturday about 5 km (3 miles) from the southwestern town of Uyuni.

One of the drivers was intense care while the other was in stable condition, said police commander Wilson Flores.

The images published in the Bolivian media showed a very damaged coach with a torn body and luggage scattered along the way.

The buses were collided by the route between Uyuni and Kolchani in the “Potchia” department in Bolivia after the “invasion of the tape”, local media reported.

One bus was traveling to the Western city of Oruro, where Oruuro Carnival was held, one of the largest festivals in Latin America.

The vehicles were restored by 10:00 local time (14:00 GMT), and the injured were taken to hospitals in both Oruuro and Potos.

The dead have not been identified and the condition of the wounded is not yet determined.

According to local media, CDR Flores said police were waiting for the results of alcohol tests taken by drivers.

Deadly road accidents are common in Bolivia. More than 30 people were killed in February When a bus is submerged nearly 800 m (2625 feet) in a ravine Between the cities of Potosi and Oruro.

In January, 19 people were killed when another bus came off the road in the same region, also near Potosi.
