The 39 -year -old was hit by three bullets – two of them in the head and one in the leg – at a rally of a campaign on June 7 in the capital, Bogota.
His wife confirmed her death on social media, paying tribute to “The Love of My Life.”
A teenager is arrested on suspicion of having carried out the shooting, but the motive behind the attack is still unclear.
Uribe’s wife, Maria Claudia Tazona, thanks her late husband for a “life full of love” and for the “best father” for their children.
According to a statement published on Saturday by the hospital where Uribe is being treated, the senator underwent bleeding to his central nervous system and had to undergo surgery.
He has already had several operations since he was first taken to the Santa Fe clinic in June.
His wife had asked people to pray for his recovery, and thousands were vigils and rallies to show their support.
EPAUribe, who has been a 2022 senator, is looking for his party nomination for the 2026 presidential election.
He attended a political event in the middle class of the capital when he was shot.
A suspected teenager was arrested while running away from the scene. The 15-year-old has been accused of attempting murder and pleaded guilty.
Several others have been detained on suspicion of helping the arms.
The brazen attack on Senator returned memories of the stormy decades of the 1980s and 90s in Colombia, when several presidential candidates and influential Colombian figures were killed.
Uribe’s own mother, journalist Diana Turbey, was abducted by Los Extraditables in 1990 – an union created by leading drugs of drugs.
She was held hostage by them for five months before being shot during an attempt to rescue.
Uribe often quotes her as her inspiration to run for the political service to “work for our country”.
Los Extraditables, who said they would prefer a tomb in Colombia in front of a prison cell in the United States, abducted and attacked famous Colombians in an attempt to force the government at the time to cancel their extradition contract with the United States.
