Weer Singh and Kali Devi, both construction workers, had gone to the nearby village to buy food when the lightning floods hit their home in the northern Indian state of Uzarakhand.
Their family-three sons, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren have disappeared since then.
They are among the 100 people who disappeared after the deadly floods devastated the state village of Dharalli on Tuesday.
Uttarakhand, which is located in the Western Himalayas, is highly vulnerable to lightning floods and landslides.
