Former FBI Director James Komi is investigating from the Secret Service after sharing a social media publication then deleting Republicans claiming to be an incitement to violence against President Donald Trump.
Komi posted on Instagram a photo of Seashells, which spelled the numbers “8647”, which he wrote: “Forming the cool shell on my beach walk.”
The number 86 is a Slang term whose definitions include “rejecting” or “getting rid”, according to the Meriam-Wester dictionary, which also notes that it has recently been used as a term that means “kill”.
Trump is the 47th President of the United States. Interior Security Secretary, Christie Nov, claims that the message is a call for Trump’s murder, but Komi said he was opposed to violence.
In an X publication, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Gugglielmi said: “We vigorously explore everything that can be considered as a potential threat against our defensives.
“We are aware of social media publications by the former FBI director and accept rhetoric as this very serious. Beyond that, we do not comment on the issues of defense intelligence.”
Komi deleted the Instagram publication, saying that in the course of subsequent action, “it suggests that (sea shells) are a political message.”
“I didn’t realize that some people connect these numbers to violence,” he added. “I never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of all kinds, so I took off the post.”
Trump has experienced two murder attempts last year.
Current FBI Director Kash Patel responded to social media, saying the Bureau was “aware of the recent post on social media by former FBI Director James Komi, directed to President Trump.”
“We are in communication with the secret service and the director Kuran. The main jurisdiction is with SS (Secret Service) on these issues and we, the FBI, will provide all the necessary support.”
Interior Security Secretary Christie Nobody said to X: “The FBI -known FBI Director James Komi has just called for Trump’s murder.”
She said her department and the secret service would investigate the issue.
The Deputy Chief of White House Dan Skavino published on X, accusing Komi of “Bad Actors/Terrorists to kill Potus” while traveling internationally, citing Trump’s current tour of the Middle East.
The most large son of the President, Donald Trump, Jr., also replied to X, commenting: “James Komi Causes (SIC), calling for my father to be killed.”
Komi serves as the FBI director between 2013-17.
He had a tumultuous mandate that included the supervision of the high investigation of democratic candidate Hilary Clinton just weeks before the 2016 election that she eventually lost to Trump.
He was fired by Trump against the backdrop of an investigation into Russian election intervention in 2016.
