A backpack survived for nearly two weeks, lost in Western Australia, drinking from puddles and sleeping in a cave, police said.
26 -year -old Carolina Wilga from Germany was rescued on Friday. She suffered from exhaustion, dehydration, “extensive insect bites” and an early leg, according to police.
Officers said it has traveled 24 km (15 miles) from her van in “confused and disoriented” condition after he was stuck in a remote Bushland.
Wilga was convinced that she would not be found, police said, adding that the backpack family was relieved and grateful.
“She spent 11 nights exposed to the elements and survives, consuming the minimum food supplies he had in her possession, and drinking water and puddles,” a statement from police in Western Australia said.
Rescue was reduced to “pure luck”, said the position of police inspector Jessica Sekuro at a press conference.
D -Ji Wilga was spotted by a driver and was self -assured in a hospital in Perth.
Tanya Henley, the driver, told Australia ABC’s public television operator that she had seen G -Jz Wilga swing her hands to the side of the road and seems to be in a “fragile country”.
“Everything in this bush is very prickly. I just can’t believe she survived. She had no shoes, she wrapped her leg up,” said Gia Henley.
Prior to its rescue, Dj Wilga was last seen in a common store in Beacon, Western Australia, in its van on June 29.
Police discovered her abandoned van on Thursday in a dense Bushland north of Beacon.
Securo said it seems that D -Ja Wilga has lost control of the vehicle, which has become mechanically unreasonable and sinking.
D -Ji Wilga had a “good dream” in the hospital and “just accepts it one day at one time,” Securo said.
