The insurance giant says most US clients stolen in cyber-attack

The hackers have stolen personal information about the majority of insurance companies 1.4 million customers at North America in North America, said the Mother Company.

“On July 16, 2025, a malicious threat actor received access to a third country -based CRM system used by the Allianz Life Company from North America,” Allianz said in a statement to the BBC.

The German mother company added that hackers are “able to obtain personally identified data related to the bigger part of the Allianz Life customers, financial professionals and choose the employees of Allianz Life using social engineering equipment.”

Data breach is only related to Allianz Life, according to the company.

The insurance company revealed the violation of data when legal submission to the Prosecutor General in Maine in the United States.

This did not specify how many people were affected.

In the statement, the insurance company said it had taken “immediate action” to control the violation and notified the FBI.

It states that “there is no evidence that the Allianz Life Network or other company systems were available, including our policy administration system.”

Allianz – who has over 125 million customers worldwide – added that it is in the process of contact and assisting the persons affected by the violation of the data.

Social engineering cyber-attack is when hackers press or work users to give sensitive information, such as presenting a reliable company or person.
