The US government has released the last batch of documents on the murder of President John F Kennedy (JFK) – a case that still inspires conspiracy theories more than 60 years later.

This is followed by an enforcement order of President Donald Trump, which required the remaining unregulated files in this case to be publicly announced.

The experts are shaped by the documents, not all of which have appeared online. They say that the work will take time and that they do not expect many revolutionary revelations.

US authorities have previously released hundreds of thousands of JFK documents, but have withdrawn some, citing national security concerns. Many Americans still believe that weapon Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone.

Kennedy was shot during a visit to Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963.

Trump said in advance that 80,000 pages would be printed.

Of the 1123 documents included in the release of Tuesday by the National Archives and Records, it was not clear immediately how new it was. Earlier, many documents were placed in partially edited form.

“You received a lot of reading,” Trump told reporters on Monday, visualizing the publication. “I don’t believe we will edit nothing.”

But some of the hundreds of files that are unsealed on Tuesday night seems to be obscured. Others were difficult to read as they had faded or slightly scanned photocopies or seemed little importance to the JFK case, experts said.

The non -participation is likely to be “confused”, said David Barrett of Vilanova University in Pennsylvania until he examined the released materials on Tuesday.

Speaking to the US partner of BBC News CBS, he said release was “useful”, but he does not expect “a shaking land of information, neither in the murder, or wider.”

Other JFK experts have suggested that the US public may continue to wonder about the possible existence of other documents and information.

“I think it can continue to have more record releases,” historian Alice George told Reuters. But she continued to say that the passing of time makes it difficult to investigate: “It is very difficult to find the truth when most of the participating people are dead.”

The government committee after the murder determined that President Kennedy was shot dead by Lee Harvey Oswald, a maritime veteran and a self-listed Marxist, who gave up in the Soviet Union and later returned to the United States.

Public opinion polls for decades have shown that most Americans do not believe that Oswald is the only killer. But there is no clear alternative story from the largest batch of unsealed documents.

The unanswered questions have long directed the case, raising theories about the involvement of state agents, mafia and other vicious characters – as well as wondering claims.

In 1992, the Congress adopted a law to release all documents related to the investigation within 25 years.

Both Trump, in his first term, and President Joe Biden released a pile of JFK related documents – but thousands remained partially or completely secrets.

Trump’s executive order two months ago also called on government archivists to launch the killings related to the murders of President candidate Robert F Kennedy and the civil rights icon Martin Luther King, and they were both shot in 1968.

His announcement on Monday that the release of the document is upcoming came as a surprise for his national security team, which has been working since January to prepare the files by removing editors, according to US media reports.

The Republican president swore during last year’s White House race to release JFK files shortly after he provided Robert F Kennedy Jr, JFK’s nephew and Robert F Kennedy’s son.

RFK JR continued to become Trump’s health secretary. He is among those who have promoted the theories of the conspiracy about the murder of his uncle. He was yet to comment on the release of documents from Tuesday.

The Trump Director for National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabard, told the release: “President Trump is leading to a new era of maximum transparency.”
