The President of the Democratic Republic Congo Felix Tshiziekedes will not participate in regional conversations aimed at ending the assault on rebels over the key Eastern city of Goma, state media said.

Kenyan leader William Ruto had invited Tshisekedi and his colleague from Rwanda Paul Kagame at a regional summit later on Wednesday while the corpses lay on the streets of Goma after heavy fighting.

Neighboring Rwanda has been accused of supporting the M23 rebel group, which has taken over much of the city, including its airport.
