The Swiss mountain avalanche buys several people, according to police

A rescue mission is underway to reach several people buried in an avalanche of Mount Aiger in the Swiss Alps, local police say.

The avalanche took place shortly after lunch on Saturday, police at Cantonal Bern said in a statement of social media.

They said that they have started a large -scale operation involving several rescue teams looking for people.

Aiger is a 3,967 m peak (13,000 feet) near the tourist resorts of Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen.
