A volcano erupted in Iceland, standing out streams of bright yellow and orange lava – the most in a number of volcanic events in the region in recent years.

Iceland has seen about 12 eruptions, as the volcanic systems of the Rekejenes Peninsula – near the capital Reykjavik – became active again in 2021.

According to the meteorological cabinet of Iceland, Magma, drilling of the earth’s crust, created a large fissure calculated at a length of between 0.7 and 1 km (0.4 to 0.6 miles).

Scientists have warned that eruptions in this region can last for decades or even centuries.
