The world’s oldest restaurant with the Michelin star loses a star

The world’s oldest restaurant with the Michelin star, Georges Blanc, has lost its third star, according to reports by the French media.

Georges Blanc, the 82-year-old French chef in charge of the restaurant in southeastern France, told AFP news agency that they “didn’t expect it.”

“We will deal with the two stars … maybe we will be less elitist and slightly more affordable.

Based in the city of Vonas outside the French city of Lyon, the restaurant won its first star in 1929 under the grandmother of Georges Elisa Blanc and has since held at least one star from the covenant leadership for the valuation of the restaurant.

Georges took over the restaurant in 1964 with his mother Paulet, before taking full control four years later at only 25 years of age.

He won Michelin’s third star for the restaurant in 1981 and has been held all three since then.

This means that the Octogenary Chef – won national awards, including the honor of France – has lived more than his life with three -star Michelin -starred than without.

Gwendal Poullenec, director of Michelin’s leadership, told AFP that they are trying to “reflect the evolution of the quality of the restaurant in our ranking.”

But he also boasted of G -n Blanc. “True under his guidance, what was once Family Inn is experiencing a new boom to become this gourmet village, which is a real gastronomic destination today,” he said.

The management, he added, will “continue to follow this restaurant with the same kindness, the same rigor” in the coming years.

Along with his institution of the same name, G -N Blanc owns several other restaurants, hotels and food shops, as well as khan.

Michelin, a French tire manufacturer, has made a restaurant leader since 1900, with the star system introduced in 1926.

Initially, they wrote one as a means of promoting driving and so demand for tires for cars.

Michelin will hold its annual Star award ceremony at the end of this month.
