Threads now lets you approve and filter your replies

Threads, the Mater X competitor, continues to ship new features at a rapid pace. Shortly after the launch communities and invisible”ghost post“The social networking app on Thursday introduced new tools that will give users more control over their conversations on the platform.

A new feature, Reply Approval, lets you decide which replies from other users appear on your posts – before anyone else sees them.

While threads, like other social networks, already offer tools that allow you to limit replies to people you follow, people you follow, or people you mention, the new feature lets you keep your replies open to everyone without the negative consequences of derailing the discussion.

As the company explains, these tools will help you “set the tone of the conversation” and give users more choice. It’s a unique way of balancing users’ interest in engaging in a more public conversation, but one where posters — those not responding — still have power.

In addition, the company is introducing new Activity field filters that let you more easily see replies from people you follow or include mentions. These join other options like verify, quote, repost and more as other ways to filter answers
