Donald Trump has rejected proposals that warming up relations between China, Russia and their allies is a challenge to the United States on the global stage.

The US president told reporters in the oval office that he has a “good relationship” with his president Jinping and that China “needs us more than we need them.”

He comes when the XI prepares to host the world leaders of the Victory Day parade in Beijing on Wednesday – a showcase of China’s military force.

XI will join Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin in North Korea, viewed by some observers as a message to the Western nations that diverted them.

China strives to position itself as a possible counterweight of the United States as Trump’s tariffs shook the global economic and political order.

Trump has presented his tariffs as essential to protecting American interests and industry. It seems that every diplomatic price is something he is willing to pay.

Asked by the BBC whether he believes that Beijing and his allies are trying to create an international coalition to oppose the United States, Trump said, “No. At all. China needs the United States.”

He added: “I have a very good relationship with my president, as you know. But China needs a lot more than we need them. I don’t see that at all.”

Separately, in a radio interview on Tuesday, Trump said he was not concerned about the axis formed between Russia and China.

He told Scott’s radio show that America has “the most powerful military forces in the world” and that “they will never use their military forces against us.”

“Believe me, that would be the worst thing they could ever do,” he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump said he was “very disappointed” in Putin after they were unable to reach a peaceful deal for Ukraine during their Alaska meeting last month.

“I am very disappointed with President Putin, I can say that,” Trump said, adding that the United States “will do something to help people live” in Ukraine. He did not specify.

China does not criticize Putin’s full -scale invasion and has been accused of the West in supporting Russia’s military efforts by delivering dual -use materials and purchases to Russian oil. Beijing denies this.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said Russia was participating in a new squad, accumulated in certain sectors of the front line.

“(Putin) refuses to be forced in peace,” Zelenski said in his night video address.
