US President Donald Trump has said he will try to return some territory for Ukraine during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

“Russia has occupied much of Ukraine. They occupied the main territory. We will try to return part of this territory to Ukraine,” he told a press conference.

Trump said that negotiations in Alaska would be “meeting with a feeling” aimed at calling Putin to end the war and that there will be “some exchanges, changes in the ground.”

This is not the first time he uses the phrase “change of ground” despiteS Kyiv never claims any Russian territories.

Trump said he would update European leaders if Putin offered a “fair deal” during the conversations, adding that he would talk to the President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelenski First “Out of Respect.”

“I will call him first … I’ll call him then and I can say,” Very luck, continue to fight “or I can say,” We can make a deal, “he said.

Trump also said that while he and Zelenski “understand”, he “very hard disagrees with what he did.” Previously, Trump blamed Zelenski for the war in Ukraine, which was triggered by the full -scale invasion of the country in the country in February 2022.

The US President announced a meeting with Putin last Friday – the day of his independent time for Russia to agree to end fire or to face more sanctions in the United States.

In response to the news of the Alaska Summit, Zelensky said all agreements without contribution from Kiev would be “dead decisions”.
