US President Donald Trump said his relationship with Elon Musk was over.
“I would have guessed so,” Trump told NBC News on Saturday when he asked him if he thought the couple’s close relationship had been over. He replied “no” when he asked him if he wanted to correct the damaged connections.
The comments were the most recent of Trump after the epic fall between him and Musk Surrounded on social media.
He came after the tech billionaire – who donated millions to Trump’s election campaign and became a White House assistant – publicly criticized the tax and expenses of the president, a key domestic policy.
The bigger part of the Republicans fell in line behind the president. Vice President JD Vance said Musk was “gone so nuclear” and may never be met back into the basket.
Vance told Podcaster Theo Von that this is a “big mistake” for Tesla and Spacex CEO to attack the president.
For weeks, Musk has criticized Trump’s signature legislation – called the “big beautiful bill” – as he was breaking through the congress.
He said that if it was adopted, the bill would add trillions of dollars to the national deficit and “undermined” the work he did as the Dodge leader, the Ministry of Efficiency of the Government and his efforts to reduce government spending.
Shortly after he left Dog after 129 days at work, Musk posted on his social media website X that the bill was “disgusting abomination” – but does not directly criticize Trump.
On Thursday, however, Trump told reporters that he was “disappointed” by Musk’s behavior.
Musk replied with noise from X posts, saying that Trump would lose the election without him and accuse Trump of being involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s files, a demonstrated financier who died in prison in anticipation of sex trafficking.
Since then, he has deleted the publication and Epstein’s lawyer has come out of the allegations.
Trump responded to his social media platform Truth Social, saying that Musk had received “crazy”. In one post, he threatened to reduce Musk’s contracts with the federal government.
In an interview with NBC News, Trump said on Saturday that Musk was “disregarded by the president’s service”.
“I think this is a very bad thing because he is very disrespectful. You could not ignore the president’s position,” Trump said.
Musk, the largest man in the world, who donated about $ 250 million to Trump’s presidential campaign, suggested during the social media feud that he could support some of Trump’s opponents during the interim election next year, throwing support behind the lawmakers.
Asked by Musk’s prospect of supporting the candidates for Democrats who run against Republicans, Trump said he would face “serious consequences”.
