US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will send the “best weapons” to Ukraine through NATO countries, while threatening Russia with serious tariffs if a war deal is not reached within 50 days.

“We want to make sure that Ukraine can do what he wants to do,” Trump said after meeting with NATO chief Mark Ruth in Washington.

Ruth has confirmed that the US has decided to “deliver Ukraine with the NATO needed and that Europeans will take over the account.

European countries will send Kiev their own Patriot anti -air defense systems – which Ukraine relies on to repel Russia’s deadly air strikes – and the replacements will be issued by the United States, Trump said.

Neither Ruth nor Trump have developed the weapons, which will be sent to Kiev, but Ruth said the deal includes “Missiles and ammunition”.

However, the president said that the “best weapons” worth billions of dollars will be “quickly allocated to the battlefield” to support Ukraine.

“If I were Vladimir Putin today … I would review if I should not take negotiations for Ukraine more seriously,” Rute said as Trump nodded.

At the front of the tariffs, Trump said the US would impose 100% secondary tariffs aimed at other trade partners of Russia if the peace deal with Ukraine was not achieved within 50 days.

This will be seen by any country that trades with Russia is faced with the tax if it wants to sell its products to the United States.

For example, if India continues to buy oil from Russia, US companies buying Indian goods will have to pay a 100% tax on imports or tariff when the products reach US coasts.

This would make the goods so expensive that US enterprises would probably choose to buy them more expensive from other places, leading to lost revenue for India.

The intention is also to develop Russia’s economy. Theoretically, if Moscow failed to generate money by selling oil to other countries, it will also have less money to finance its war in Ukraine.

Given that oil and gas represent almost one -third of Moscow’s state revenue and over 60% of its exports, 100% tariffs can do something from Russia’s finances.

However, the Moscow Stock Exchange Index has increased sharply after the announcement, probably as investors expected Trump – who annoyed the “main statement” for Russia last week – to rely even more stringent measures.

Although details of both the tariffs and the NATO weapons deal were scarce, Monday was the first time Trump has promised to make a new military equipment in Ukraine since I returned to the White House.

The briefing was also remarkable with the tone, struck by the US president, whose rhetoric of Vladimir Putin is becoming more and more.

It was not the first time Trump suggested that Kiev was responsible for Russia’s decision to launch his full -scale invasion in Ukraine in February 2022.

But he seemed to be disappointed with the lack of progress in ending a conflict, which once seemed to be easily resolved.

Asked about his relationship with Putin, Trump said the two said “a lot about doing this”, but expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that “very nice telephone calls” with the Russian president are often followed by devastating air strikes of Ukraine – which increase in intensity and frequency.

“Then it happened three or four times, you say: the conversation means nothing,” Trump said.

“I don’t want to call him a killer, but he’s a difficult man. It’s proven over the years, he has misled many people – Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden,” he added. “He did not mislead me. At some point the conversation does not speak, it must be an action.”

Two rounds of negotiations to end the fire between Russia and Ukraine were held earlier this year, but so far no other meetings have been scheduled – something that Moscow has accused Kiev.

The President of Ukraine Zelenski is currently hosting the American envoy Keith Kellist in Kiev, and earlier on Monday welcomes a “productive meeting” – stating that he is “grateful” to Trump for his support.

The Kremlin does not immediately comment on the message – but the comments from Moscow seem to show a measure of relief.

Pro-Crampped Pundit and former assistant to Putin Sergei Markov called the bluff tariff message, which shows that Trump “gave up trying to reach peace in Ukraine.”

Senator Konstantin Kosachev claims that “If this is all that Trump had to say about Ukraine today, then this is a lot of adoration for nothing.”

After 50 days, much can change “both on the battlefield and in the mood of the forces that are in the US and NATO,” Kosachev writes.
